Wide Receiver

Starting X receiver: Caleb Chapman
Backup: Demond Demas

Starting slot receiver: Ainias Smith
Backup: Evan Stewart

Starting Z receiver: Yulkeith Brown
Backup: Chase Lane

This is a position that A&M is going to need more out of if they are going to be contenders. They have had one of the least explosive passing offenses in college football since Fisher took over. That is not going to be able to get it done against teams like Alabama or Georgia in the SEC.

The best receiver that is returning to Texas A&M is going to be Ainias Smith. He is an emerging deep threat that is going to be used more prominently this season. The two outside receivers figure to be Caleb Chapman and Yulkeith Brown. Chapman has struggled to stay healthy in his career, but the talent has shown when he has been out there. Brown is another guy that has top-level speed that A&M has not been utilizing.

If the veteran receivers can’t step up, there are talented young guys behind them. Demond Demas, Evan Stewart, and Chris Marshall are all talented enough and appear to be the future of the position for the Aggies. There is a lot of talent in this group, but they need to find a way to step up.
