Linebackers

Starting Will linebacker: Chris Russell
Backup: Andre White

Starting middle linebacker: Edgerrin Cooper
Backup: Andre White

This is a position that is hurt a bit by the de-commitment of five-star linebacker Harold Perkins. Perkins could have really made this defense better with his athleticism, but the Aggies are going to have to do with what they have. While Perkins was talented, there are more experienced options here for the Aggies that they can count on.

Edgerrin Cooper is going to be the starting middle linebacker and he had a strong finish to the season in 2021. If he can take another step forward, then this defense will be better off and faster. Chris Russell is a senior that has plenty of experience and will look to bring that on the field this season.

This is a position that the Aggies need to recruit better in the future. They have missed out on some top guys and the guys they have are not as talented as the other top teams.
