Quarterback

Starter: Quinn Ewers

Backup: Hudson Card

This job should be Ewers to lose. Hudson Card was the starter for some of the season in 2021 and was not very impressive. Card is a young player that has some talent, but there is almost no scenario that he will start the season at quarterback over Ewers.

Ewers has some work to do to work on his throwing mechanics and the technical aspects of playing quarterback, but there is an undeniable talent with him. He possesses one of the strongest arms in the country and has enough mobility to him to make him a threat. He takes risks with his arm and that is going to be interesting to watch considering the speed that Texas has at the wide receiver position.

While Card might not be starting, he will be a great backup to have due to his game experience and athleticism. However, if Ewers were to be declared a starter early on, watch for Card to potentially transfer.
