Clemson Football: Top 3 way-too-early breakout candidates for 2022
Clemson had one of the best defenses in the country last season. However, they are going to be losing some of their top players in the secondary to the NFL draft.
Cornerbacks Andrew Booth Jr. and Mario Goodrich are both gone and the Tigers are going to need someone to step up in their place. The guy that is going to do that is sophomore cornerback Nate Wiggins who was one of Clemson’s best recruits in the class of 2021.
Hailing from Atlanta, Ga., Wiggins was a four-star cornerback prospect that got on the field a little bit last season. At 6-foot-2, 170 pounds, he has the size that is necessary to be a shutdown cornerback. He possesses great ball skills and has a knack for making plays.
Clemson is going to need someone to step up and take the top spot at cornerback. Look for Wiggins to take it and have a great 2022 season for the defense.
