North Carolina Football: Way-too-Early 2022 Game Predictions
After scoring a key win over Pitt, North Carolina is going to go on the road to face Virginia and first-year head coach Tony Elliott. Elliott is coming to Charlottesville after being Clemson’s offensive coordinator for several years and hopes to make the Cavs a contender in the Coastal. Quarterback Brennan Armstrong is back, but Virginia is dealing with a lot of departures on the team.
The offensive line has been particularly hit hard. The defense was also not very good last season and it is not clear if it will be any better this season. Expect this a tough transition year for Elliott and the Cavaliers.
Final Score: North Carolina 42, Virginia 24 (7-2, 4-1)
When Wake Forest and North Carolina meet this season, it will actually be an ACC conference game. If you are scratching your head and wondering what I am talking about, then let me be the first to tell you that these two have been meeting as non-conference foes for a few games. This season the game will have implications on the standings.
Wake Forest is returning a lot from a team that won double-digit games a year ago. Quarterback Sam Hartman might be a Heisman candidate and is ready for another big season. This game was a fun shootout that North Carolina won last season. This year, it will be the Demon Deacons.
Final Score: North Carolina 37, Wake Forest 40 (7-3, 4-2)
