1. Cameron Ward, Washington State

If you don’t know the name of Cameron Ward, you are going to know who the quarterback is at some point in the 2022 college football season because he’s dynamic as all get out.

Ward was a star at the FCS program Incarnate Word, which discovered the quarterback a couple of years ago and then watched him lead the FCS in passing last season, throwing for 4,648 and 47 touchdown passes.

Ward has been called a “generational talent” by some and there were even some that said he was the quarterback with the most upside among all the quarterbacks in the transfer portal.

He was ranked 17th overall among 2022 transfers but his impact will be greater than that. His former head coach at Incarnate Word Eric Morris, who was a Mike Leach disciple, is now the offensive coordinator at Washington State, which means Ward will be in the same system that allowed him to put up huge numbers.
