This unit is going to have a lot of experience that is going to be returning in 2021. The biggest thing that Florida State football needs to fix heading into next season is giving up explosive plays. There is a good mix of experience and young talent with this group.
Jarvis Brownlee Jr was up and down at times last season, but he should have one of the starting jobs and even the ability to move to nickel if it is needed. Omarion Cooper stood out as a freshman and should be improved this season.
Another young player that came on at the end of last season was Kevin Knowles. Knowles might have been the best player in the Seminoles secondary and he might just be getting started.
Florida State had to be glad when starting safety Jammie Robinson decided to come back for another season. He had a good season in 2021 and will be a leader for the defense. Akeem Dent can be inconsistent but played well to close out the 2021 season.
In terms of depth, look for Louisville transfer Greedy Vance to help out FSU a lot. A guy that most Seminoles fans will want to track is 2022 five-star Sam McCall. McCall is the future at the safety position and could be on the field early in 2022 since he is an early enrollee.
