3. Andrel Anthony

Andrel Anthony turned many heads during his freshman season with the Wolverines. After not seeing much playing time for the first half of Michigan’s season, Anthony burst onto the scene during the Wolverines’ 37-33 loss to Michigan State in late October.

Anthony caught five passes, six in total, for 155 yards and two touchdowns in his breakout performance against the Spartans and continued to impress throughout Michigan’s 12-2 season. In total, Anthony caught 12 passes for 248 yards and three touchdowns as a freshman and could be gearing up for a monster season in 2022.

With most of Michigan’s offense returning and a variety of options at quarterback, the weapons around the young receiver are in his favor. The promotions of two new offensive coordinators who know his style of play better than just about anyone, even Michigan’s system should benefit Anthony. Though he will need to compete with Michigan stand-out receivers Ronnie Bell and Roman Wilson for a starting role in the Wolverines’ offense, Anthony will see significant playing time throughout 2022 regardless.
