5 hottest starts to college football recruiting in 2023

2. Notre Dame football

Even after losing its head coach to LSU, Notre Dame football signed a top-10 college football recruiting class in 2022 and landed a total of 17 blue-chip prospects (four-star or above).

That was an impressive job of recruiting by new head coach Marcus Freeman and so far that has carried over to the 2023 class as Notre Dame football is currently ranked No. 2 according to the On3.com rankings right now.

What’s even more impressive for the Fighting Irish is the fact that Notre Dame has a total of eight blue-chippers so far with one five-star pledge in Keon Keeley (No. 10 overall) as well as three other defenders ranked in the top 100.

The Irish did lose defensive line coach Mike Elston to Michigan as he was passed over for the defensive coordinator job and he was a big part of landing Keeley, so that is one recruitment to watch.

So is the recruitment of five-star QB Dante Moore who recently got a prediction to land with Notre Dame despite being from Michigan’s own backyard in Detroit.
