Clemson Football: Way-too-Early 2022 Depth Chart Projection
Defensive Line
Starting Defensive Tackles: Bryan Bresee and Tyler Davis
Backups: Tre Williams and Ruke Orhorhoro
Starting Defensive Ends: Myles Murphy and Xavier Thomas
Backups: K.J. Henry and Justin Mascoll
This is not only the best position group on the Clemson team, but it is likely the best defensive line in the country. This unit has elite players and depth on it and can control most games that they are in. There are future NFL players on this line and they are ready to wreak havoc on teams this season.
At defensive end, Xavier Thomas is back for his final season and he will be starting opposite of Myles Murphy. Both Thomas and Murphy are former five-star recruits and both are very good players. Clemson has depth at defensive end beyond those two players of course. K.J. Henry led the team in sacks last season and will be rotating in heavily for the Tigers. Justin Mascoll has not had a chance to make a huge impact yet, but he will be someone else Clemson relies on for depth this season.
At defensive tackle, all eyes are going to be on Bryan Bresee and his return from his knee injury. Bresee is one of the best players in college football and is going to be a top ten draft pick if he is healthy. Tyler Davis is going to be the other starting tackle and while he might not be as good as Bresee, he is very good in his own right.
