Baylor Football: Way-too-Early 2022 Game Predictions
To start off the month of October, Baylor will be in a rematch of last season’s Big 12 championship game. When Oklahoma State and Baylor last played, the Bears kept the Cowboys one yard short of what might have been a possible playoff birth. These are expected to be two of the top teams in the conference again, so it is possible that this is going to be the first of two matchups.
Oklahoma State is bringing back quarterback Spencer Sanders, who had a great performance in his last game of the season against Notre Dame.
Oklahoma State is going to be replacing some players from one of the country’s best defenses and the coordinator of that defense, Jim Knowles. With the game in Waco, the Bears will find a way to make enough plays to get a huge conference win.
Final Score: Baylor 34, Oklahoma State 31 (4-1, 2-0)
After winning a huge game against Oklahoma State, Baylor will have their bye week, which they might not be thrilled about so early in the season. After the bye week, Baylor is going to take a trip to Morgantown to take on West Virginia. The Mountaineers were a tough team to play last season and should still be stingy on defense. The questions for West Virginia are going to be on the offensive side of the ball.
To help address the offensive issues that they have had under head coach Neal Brown, West Virginia brought in former USC offensive coordinator Graham Harrell to open things up. Harrell is known to be an air raid guru and you can expect West Virginia to throw the ball around a lot more. Even at home, however, there are too many question marks on West Virginia to pick them to beat Baylor.
Final Score: Baylor 35, West Virginia 14 (5-1, 3-0)
