SEC Football: 3 most overrated head coaches ahead of 2022 season
1. Brian Kelly, LSU
Brian Kelly has climbed the ladder in the college football world, and you have to respect it. He’s worked his way from the Division 2 level all the way to the MAC and then took over at Cincinnati where he saw success before taking over at Notre Dame.
At Notre Dame, he went 92-39 and made two trips to the College Football Playoff and a national title game back in 2012. He also won 10-plus games in five of his final six seasons in South Bend before bolting to LSU.
So how could he possibly be overrated?
Kelly is being paid a ton of money to coach LSU and I’m not so sure he can lead the Tigers to a national title which is what they expect. He’s gotten Notre Dame to the big stage before, but he has proven time and time again that he can’t win those big games. He’s been blown out in the three chances he’s gotten in the playoff and BCS national title game.
And now you’re telling me he has to face teams like Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Texas A&M every year? Yeah, I’m not so sure he’s worth all the hype.
