Ole Miss Football: Way-too-early Projected 2022 Depth Chart
Running Back
Starter: Zach Evans
Backup: Ulysses Bentley IV
Running back is another position that saw an awful lot of turnover this off-season. After losing their leading ball carrier, Jerrion Ealy, as well as former backups Snoop Connor and Henry Parrish Jr. Who (along with Corral) combined for 2,582 yards and 32 touchdowns on the ground last season for the Rebels.
Thankfully, Ole Miss acquired five-star transfer, Zach Evans, over from TCU in January. Who was rated as one of the top prospects to come through the transfer portal this year.
Evans is transferring over from an established TCU program where he put up 1,063 yards on the ground, 206 yards through the air, and 10 total touchdowns over his two seasons with the Horned Frogs. Averaging over seven yards per carry, and 11 yards per reception. So, he will likely take over as the team’s lead back this upcoming season.
Behind Evans, Ole Miss Football also added another transfer just a few days ago in SMU running back Ulysses Bentley. Who should slot in right behind Evans, and could even push for the starting job next season. Forming a solid one-two punch in the backfield for 2022.
