2022 NFL Mock draft: Projecting first-round after free agency and trades
Drake London could easily get drafted much earlier than 21st but that’s just the way this mock draft worked out. After drafting Mac Jones last year, the Patriots really need to upgrade the weapons around him and the 6-foot-5 London makes perfect sense. He only played in eight games due to injury but in six of those games, he went over 100 yards, averaging 11 receptions per game and getting 1,084 total yards. London was a former basketball player who doesn’t have blazing speed but knows how to box out and get the ball.
After waiting patiently, the Green Bay Packers land their replacement for Davante Adams. Well, at least on paper. The Packers got the No. 22 overall pick from Las Vegas for the all-pro wideout but Olave (6-foot-1, 189 pounds) isn’t a bad consolation prize. He just ran a 4.39 at the combine and is one of the best route runners in the draft. He could work on his contested catches but I’m not worried at all about his hands and over the past three seasons, he caught 164 passes and 32 of those went for touchdowns. He’s also never averaged fewer than 14 yards per reception.
