2022 NFL Mock draft: Projecting first-round after free agency and trades
Sometimes things just work out. The Cardinals lost Chandler Jones in free agency so they have a need at edge rusher and it just so happens that one of the best pass rushers in the 2022 NFL draft falls into their lap in this mock draft. George Karlaftis has the size to play multiple spots along the defensive line and notched 14 sacks over the past three seasons with Purdue to go along with 29 tackles for loss. He’ll be a great fit in the Cardinals’ defense and will be productive right away.
Dallas could go in a bunch of different directions here. The Cowboys could use help on the defensive line and could use another edge rusher. The Cardinals took one of the best remaining and while there are others, Tyler Linderbaum, a center from Iowa seems like a great fit. Interior offensive linemen rarely bust and the Cowboys have had a lot of success drafting offensive linemen in recent years. This is a deep draft but Linderbaum is going to be a pro-bowler for years to come and Dallas finds its long-term replacement for Travis Frederick.
