2022 NFL Mock draft: Projecting first-round after free agency and trades
It seems a little early for safety and offensive tackle Evan Neal will be a definite consideration but Kyle Hamilton stood out at the combine and has the ball skills NFL teams need at safety. He’s got the ability to be an All-Pro for a decade and that will push Houston to make this choice. The biggest problem for the Texans, of course, is that there isn’t a sure-fire quarterback or two because otherwise, they would be in a prime position.
There is a lot to like about Alabama offensive tackle Evan Neal and for the New York Jets, adding one of, if not the best offensive tackle in the 2022 NFL draft makes a ton of sense. New York is going to need to be able to protect Zach Wilson and while there are probably sexier options available the 6-foot-7, 330-pounder is proven and can man either tackle spot from day one.
