The transfer portal

College football’s new one time transfer rule that gives players immediately eligibility the following season after a transfer has changed the whole landscape of the sport. The new rule basically created free agency in college sports so now programs have to spend additional time working on this. But great programs will adapt and take advantage of the rule changes and bad programs won’t. It’s just that simple.

Unfortunately, WVU hasn’t been successful with the new portal rules. Transfers happen for many reasons such as coaching changes, playing time, scheme fit, and family situations, to name a few.

An important part of the offseason is dealing with the loss of players, recruiting players in the portal to come to WVU and also determinating their fit with the team. It’s a very important aspect of the offseason and why it’s being highlighted.

So to keep track here’s a full list of the madness that has been going on for WVU.
