Sugar Bowl (Dec. 31) Texas A&M vs Texas

If Texas A&M football was in another conference, the Aggies would probably be in the 2022 College Football Playoff. As it stands, a likely loss at Alabama will hurt their chances.

The schedule isn’t that difficult though and if A&M is able to finish 11-1, with a loss to Alabama, there’s a shot that they can reach the playoff. But that would probably require Georgia going into the SEC championship with a loss and losing to Alabama.

And as powerful as the SEC is, it’s hard to see the league getting three bids if there is a 12-1 conference champion outside of the Big Ten and SEC, which I believe there will be.

You’ll find out who that is in a minute. But it won’t be Texas. However, I think the Longhorns take a huge step forward with Quinn Ewers at quarterback. They will have one of the most explosive offenses in the country and will win enough to get back to a major bowl game.
