Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh has been trying to figure out what to do at quarterback for a few years as they waited out the final years of Ben Roethlisberger’s career.

Big Ben finally retired after leading the Steelers to the playoffs again and Pittsburgh went out and got Mitch Trubisky to replace him, at least in the short term.

You never know, that move could work out but the Steelers can’t pass on the opportunity to land a franchise quarterback in the first round if it arises. Of course, Pittsburgh doesn’t pick until 20, so Malik Willis will have to drop a little for it to happen.

If he does, Pittsburgh shouldn’t think twice. Willis has top-10 ability and taking a chance on him in the middle of the first round should be a no-brainer for a QB-needy team like the Steelers.

Willis might not be viewed as ready to play right away, but that’s a nice thing about Pittsburgh. He won’t have to play right away, although many thought the same about Big Ben, who started as a rookie due to injury and took the Steelers to the AFC title game.

I’m not saying Willis can do that but it’s time for Pittsburgh to invest in a quarterback.
