3 questions still facing Nebraska Football after spring ball
Can the transfers make an instant impact?
It’s hard to say how many transfers Nebraska football will be starting next season but if you include junior college transfers in that number, it could be as many as six or seven.
Whoever winds up as the starting quarterback will obviously need to play well for the Huskers or they will be doomed to another losing season.
However, there are some other positions that are going to need transfers to step in and make an immediate impact. Running back is one of those and Anthony Grant, a JUCO transfer, had a 60-yard touchdown run in the spring game.
The passing game is going to need the additions of Trey Palmer and Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda to make contributions at receiver, especially Palmer. Omar Brown and Tommi Hill should also contend for playing time in the secondary and even beyond the starters, Nebraska has been weak on depth.
That needed to change and hopefully, all these transfers help serve as reinforcements. But if they don’t deliver as expected, the Huskers could struggle once again.
