Jordan Redmond, DT (Virginia)

One of the bigger needs Nebraska football has going into the 2022 season is depth at defensive tackle. The Huskers are thin in terms of experience and adding a veteran from the transfer portal is essential.

The problem is that Nebraska is far from the only college football team looking for defensive line help in the transfer portal. Just about every team is looking for that because big guys are rare, especially defensive linemen that have a history of productivity.

There are a bunch of players in the transfer portal who were highly touted in high school or might be worth taking a shot on, but that doesn’t really address the issue. One player that could and is available right now is Jordan Redmond, a nose tackle/defensive tackle from Virginia.

The former Cavalier has just 18 career tackles but he’s also 6-foot and 310 pounds. Scott Frost also recruited him previously when he was at UCF. The Knights offered Redmond a scholarship and hosted him for an unofficial visit.

He obviously chose Virginia but if the Huskers want to add some DT depth, Redmond might be worth targeting because the pickings are going to remain slim at that position.
