3. Ohio State

When you talk about returning talent, few teams in college football have as much as Ohio State, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

It’s true that Ohio State lost a pair of first-round caliber wide receivers to the NFL draft in Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave, plus their starting left tackle who’s projected as a day-two pick. Yet, the Buckeyes might still have the best offense in college football next season.

CJ Stroud is back to make another run at the Heisman Trophy after finishing third last season and he was every bit as good as Young down the stretch last season, save for the Michigan game, which ended his hopes of winning the award.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the best receiver in college football and could be the most dominant player on offense in 2022. Running back TreVeyon Henderson who notched over 1,500 total yards last season is another viable Heisman contender.

And with Marvin Harrison Jr. and Julian Fleming ready to step in at receiver, that won’t be an issue either. The defense has work to do, but OSU is hoping new DC Jim Knowles has the answers after a great track record at Oklahoma State.
