8. Utah

When it comes to the ESPN FPI Top 25, Utah is being seriously overlooked and like Texas A&M, is ranked outside the top 10. Then again, an uber-talented USC squad isn’t even ranked in the top 25, so, it’s easy to have some questions.

Utah is one of the better college football programs that people don’t talk about. After winning the Pac-12 championship for the first time last season and returning to a major bowl for the first time in over a decade, Utah is getting national recognition and it should.

Head coach Kyle Wittingham is one of the best in the business and quarterback Cameron Rosling showed what kind of weapon he can be down the stretch last season when the Utes beat Oregon twice and nearly knocked off Ohio State in the Rose Bowl.

Had Rosling not gotten hurt, they might have. Tavion Thomas also returns after rushing for more than 1,000 yards and the Ute defense, despite losing Devin Lloyd and some other leading tacklers, should be just fine.
