7. These players won’t get drafted but could still make an NFL roster.

This season, Notre Dame football has 10 players on the NFL radar. Four of those 10 players are likely to be Priority Free agents or get a camp invitation. Linebacker Drew White, nose tackle Kurt Hinish, kicker Johnathan Doerer, and linebacker Isaiah Pryor might not get drafted but will likely get an invitation to a camp.

Drew White will make a roster because of his grit and work ethic. White is not an elite athlete but plays the game with great instincts, doesn’t get caught up in a mess defending the run game, and has excellent field awareness.

If Kurt Hinish were coming out of Notre Dame 15-20 years ago, he’d be a 3rd-round draft pick, and teams would ask him to put on some weight and be a space-eating nose tackle. However, it’s 2022, and the NFL is a passing league. Hinish is squatty and undersized but could be a scheme fit for a 3-4 defense.

Like Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah before, Isaiah Pryor converted from defensive back to Notre Dame’s ROVER position. Pryor did not have the impact Owuso-Koramoah did at the position and will not have the effect in the NFL either. However, he could find a home somewhere as a core special-teams player.

Kicker Johnathan Doerer is not likely to get drafted because you don’t have to prepare a kicker to get a good one, and Doerer is a good one. Being the kicker at Notre Dame means you kick on the grass in what can sometimes be unpredictable weather. Doerer does not have a big leg but is accurate up to about 45 yards and is reliable.
