Christian Watson – Wide receiver – North Dakota State

Offenses employed by the Titans have been brutal, domineering ones. Using Derrick Henry as a bludgeon, the Titans like to pound at the walls of a defense like the Ottomans at Constantinople. Defenses get tired, relent, and Tennessee’s offense breaks their will in the fourth quarter.

To play in this kind of offense, a wide receiver must understand they are going to need to block well. From there, they must be able to run deep routes well, as the Titans throw it over the top of an unsuspecting secondary.

Christian Watson is a dream fit, then.

The North Dakota State receiver has played with a program that emphasizes hard blocking and play-action passing. With that structure, Watson thrived. Running a 4.36 40-yard dash time, he was able to burn corners deep on go routes and crossing routes. His 6-foot-4 frame allows him to outmuscle corners for the ball.

Given the Titans’ receiving corps are devoid of talent, Watson could be a WR2 as soon as he’s drafted, especially if AJ Brown is gone.
