Buckeyes projected to get elite wideouts

Ohio State is one of the best programs in all of college football at recruiting and developing elite wide receivers. Heck, Jameson Williams only transferred to Alabama because the depth chart was so crowded at Ohio State.

Even after losing two first-round receivers, Ohio State still has the best wide receiver room in the country. Marvin Harrison Jr. and Julian Fleming will be just fine and Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the best receiver in college football.

With all that in mind, it’s not a surprise to see Ohio State trending in the right direction with two of the best wideouts in the 2023 recruiting class.

Noah Rodgers, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound receiver out of North Carolina has received another crystal ball prediction to wind up at Ohio State, which is the fifth this month and sixth overall. He’s ranked 59th overall according to the 247 sports composite rankings and is 10th among WRs.

The confidence level on those six projections is a six on a scale of 1-10, so this feels like a strong bet for Ryan Day and company.

That’s a good thing for Ohio State because while they are firmly in the mix for Brandon Inniss, the No. 1 wideout in 2023 out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, his recruitment feels far from over, although OSU is trending in the right direction.

There are now eight crystal ball picks for Inniss who is 6-foot, 190 pounds and there are projections to Ohio State, USC, and Oklahoma. Ohio State has 28 percent of the crystal ball projections and the latest is from a South Carolina insider with a confidence level of one.

Wiltfong has his crystal ball on Ohio State after it was on USC earlier. The Trojans do have the leader in predictions but we’ll see if that sticks.

When it comes to elite wideouts and recruiting, it’s hard to bet against the Buckeyes.
