1. Addison is perfect for the Lincoln Riley offense

If you are not sure how Jordan Addison will fare in Lincoln Riley’s offense, think of how Sterling Shepherd and Marquise “Hollywood” Brown produced in the same offense. Shepherd caught 86 passes for over 1,200 yards and eight touchdowns.

Brown had 75 receptions for 1,318 yards in his final year in Norman. What Riley does well is scheming his playmakers open. Both Shepherd and Brown did lots of damage out of the slot. Addison took 65 percent of his snaps last season from the slot.

However, Addison can line up as a flanker or split as well. His speed gives Riley a weapon similar to Brown in that he can line up in the slot or out wide. That said, Riley will line Addison up based on match-up advantages.

Addison also had 16 career carries while at Pitt. Expect Riley to use Addison on some jet sweep action in addition to lining him in the slot or out wide.

Riley’s use of Addison in the USC offense is limited to Riley’s imagination. The Pitt transfer is explosive with the ball in his hands. Riley’s goal is simple, get the ball in Addison’s hands in space and let him work.
