By Eric Finney
Who is college football’s most underrated cornerback for the 2022 season? Who is the most underrated safety? Who are the underrated cornerbacks?
As the heat of the summer rapids approaches, college football fans can rejoice in the fact that the season is right around the corner. In the coming weeks, student-athletes from across the country will be returning to their respective universities to build upon the progress that occurred during spring football practices.
‘Tis the season for preseason watchlists, Heisman hopefuls, and schedule predictions that grace the front page of the media’s top blog sites. Many of the student-athletes that are discussed do not need introductions to the world of college football. I do not mean to stir the pot, but I don’t believe placing Bryce Young at the top of your Heisman list for the 2022 season is a hot take (I really like Bryce Young, just FYI); although, if you’re looking for a hot take this summer season, ketchup belongs in the refrigerator and should never be consumed at room temperature.
I’m going to take the time to introduce you to a series that will be featured throughout this summer highlighting college football’s most underrated players. These players may not be household names, have the sexiest media following, or dominate the airwaves, but they will provide a tremendous impact on their perspective teams.
Sit back, take the ketchup out of the fridge before eating your cheeseburger, ditch the monotonous Heisman talk, and get to know some of the most underrated defensive backs that college football has to offer.
