Top five Conference USA football games to watch in 2022

September 17 – UTSA at Texas

Sure, the Longhorns will outgun the Roadrunners by a lot in terms of talent. But, this is the first meeting between the two programs, and it’s also the kind of early-season contest that Texas has gotten in the habit of losing the last few seasons.

October 8 – Western Kentucky at UTSA

This is a very important early-season contest for both of these squads. For Western Kentucky, it could signal that the losses they’ve incurred this offseason didn’t hurt them enough. For UTSA, it’s a game they’ll want in their cap because it will show if they’re really the best team in Conference USA this year.

October 22 – Florida Atlantic at UTEP

A big game for the teams in that second tier of Conference USA. Either team can get themselves in position for a third-place run – or better – with a win.

October 29 – UAB at Florida Atlantic

Both teams will come in here with differing motivations. UAB will want to make sure they carry their momentum to the UTSA game a week from the 29th. Meanwhile, Florida Atlantic will want to make a bid for the conference title.

November 5 – UTSA at UAB

In what could potentially be a conference title game preview, it’s the biggest regular-season game of the year in C-USA. Each team will want to show they’re the better of the two before the conference title game on December 2.
