2. Cameron Rising

If you haven’t boarded the Cameron Rising hype train yet, you need to.

Charlie Brewer transferred to Utah last season from Baylor and everyone expected him to be the star of the offense, but he didn’t quite pan out and left the program, giving way to Rising who was a star from the get-go. Rising’s play probably forced Brewer out because it was obvious that he was the best option to be QB1.

Brewer had 484 yards with three touchdowns and three picks and was replaced by Rising who finished the season with 2,493 yards and 20 touchdowns with only five picks and one yard short of 500 rushing yards with six more scores. He finished his sophomore year with nearly 3,000 yards of total offense and 26 total touchdowns. Not too shabby.

Now, he’s going to be one of the best quarterbacks in the Pac-12 in 2022 and probably one of the most underrated in all of college football — but that’s OK with him.

Rising is going to be that final piece to the playoff puzzle that Utah needs.
