2. Clark is a Winner off the field

The university decided to shut down football, bowling, and the rifle team was difficult for all parties. It was especially hard for the football players, coaches, and fans who put their blood, sweat, and tears into the program only to have their years wasted.

Coach Clark didn’t have to stay with the Blazers football team to try and bring it back to life. Clark could have gone on instantly to return as a defensive coordinator for a bigger due to his experience as the defensive coordinator for the South Alabama Jaguars. He also could have been a head coach at another program like UAB.

Instead, coach Clark devoted himself to making sure the football program came back under his control. Not only did he help bring the program back and turned the Blazers into one of the most consistent football teams outside of the power five. UAB was a university starving for success on the field, and Clark turned into a program with a new on-campus stadium and practice facilities.

In the 2017 season, Clark was named the C-USA Coach of the Year for not only bringing the Blazers back onto the field but making them immediate conference title contenders. The following season, Clark was Sporting News College Football Coach of the Year and the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year.

He has one of the most impressive resumes in college football and the state of Alabama. He has shown to be an inspiration for coaches who look to develop their programs from the ground up.
