Tuscaloosa, Ala.. player. 2414. Pick Analysis. Sept. 17. 3. Scouting Report. Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks

Alabama is going to be able to tee off in this game, as Louisiana-Monroe ranked 111th in the country last year in Sports Reference’s Simple Rating System (SRS).

Yet, this team did show some promise in 2021. At one point, the Warhawks were 4-3 and looked like they could have made a bowl game. But, five straight losses put an end to that.

The Tide’s pass rush is going to be the big story in this game. ULM had a terrible offensive line in 2021, and Alabama should be able to get at least three or four sacks in a blowout win.

Prediction: Alabama 55, Louisiana-Monroe 7 (3-0)

Clark Lea’s first year in Nashville was a rude awakening. The Commodores went 2-10, got thumped by East Tennessee State in their opener, and rarely looked competitive against conference opponents.

For 2022, Lea is hoping that things get a bit better, but Vanderbilt’s talent level is still down. Re’Mahn Davis is back at running back, and that’s about it in terms of talent.

Alabama wraps up September with a routine destruction of the Commodores.

Prediction: Alabama 56, Vanderbilt 6 (4-0, 1-0 SEC)
