Austin Peay has finally found a measure of success in the last few years after Will Healy built them up. Mark Hudspeth led them to an FCS playoff bid, and the youthful Scotty Walden has managed to keep a program that has traditionally struggled above water.

This is nothing more than a glorified practice for Alabama, though.

Prediction: Alabama 52, Austin Peay 3 (11-0)

It was an eventful start to the offseason for Auburn. Bryan Harsin was alleged to have a “toxic” and “dysfunctional” football program, with allegations that he treated his players like dirt. However, those allegations blew over, and Harsin remains on the plains.

The team itself seems as if it’s at a crossroads. Bo Nix transferred to Oregon, leaving former Texas A&M quarterback Zach Calzada to possibly run the show. At least Tank Bigsby stayed with the Tiger program.

On defense, replacing corner Roger McCreary and safety Smoke Monday is going to be paramount. This unit could struggle against a mighty Alabama passing attack that could set the field on fire.

Alabama should write this chapter in the Iron Bowl, but by a larger margin than last year.

Prediction: Alabama 34, Auburn 23 (12-0, 8-0)
