Scott Frost and the Nebraska football program need to put together a winning season and here are three predictions for the Huskers in 2022.
There were plenty of bold predictions made about the tenure of Scott Frost when he returned home to be the head coach of the Nebraska football program.
Unfortunately, up to this point at least, those predictions haven’t come to fruition.
Nebraska football fans know Frost’s record all too well. In four seasons, he’s never won more than five games and never gotten the Huskers into a bowl game.
The program that once never won fewer than nine games during the tenure of Tom Osborne, has now been fighting and scratching to find relevance under Frost.
A .341 winning percentage certainly isn’t what Nebraska football fans were expecting when Frost was hired and the 2022 season will be his final chance to right the ship. If another losing season follows, Trev Alberts will have no choice but to act.
Yet, Frost could avoid that fate with a winning season, and here are three bold predictions for Nebraska football in 2022.
Scott Frost doesn’t get fired
My first prediction should tell you plenty about what I think of the 2022 Huskers. They might not win the Big Ten West or anything but they will win at least seven games and allow Frost to stick around for another season.
Nebraska did a stellar job of addressing its needs in the transfer portal and that’s a tool the Huskers need to continue to utilize going forward. Casey Thompson and his play at QB will be huge but Chubba Purdy offers depth, as does Logan Smothers.
The Huskers shored up some spots on defense and addressed seemingly every position of need with a veteran or somewhat proven player in the portal.
Nebraska’s schedule isn’t easy but it’s much softer than last season and there’s no reason Nebraska shouldn’t win eight games in 2022. It might be 8-5 but Frost and the Huskers get headed back in the right direction, finally.
