Memphis Football: 2022 season preview and predictions for Tigers

Breaking down Memphis football offense
Without Calvin Austin, the road is going to be significantly tougher for the offense, but there’s still a lot of talent here.
At quarterback, Seth Henigan will lead the show once again, and won’t have to worry about losing his job this time. Henigan was a solid quarterback for the Tigers in 2021, throwing for 3,322 yards and 25 touchdowns.
Running back is one of the most hopeful positions on the team. Sophomore Brandon Thomas ran for nearly six yards per carry in 2021, and they get a speedy cutter in Jevyon Ducker from Northern Illinois. Look for the Tigers to run the ball more in 2022.
The receiving corps doesn’t have Sean Dykes or the aforementioned Austin but retains the remaining three top receivers. Presumptive top receiver Javon Ivory Jr. has been considered the Tigers’ key player coming into 2022. Behind him is Eddie Lewis, who caught for four touchdowns in 2021, as well as Gabriel Rogers.
At tight end, it’s Caden Preiskorn and Anthony Landphere battling it out for the job.
The offensive line is one of the team’s key strengths. All five presumptive starters have at least three starts last season to hang their hat on. Watch for Ira Henry III at guard and Jacob Likes at center.
