5. Florida football

You could probably make a case for Texas A&M being higher on this list, but the month of July has been huge for Florida football which is now ranked 12th overall in the 2023 college football recruiting class according to the 247 sports composite rankings.

It wasn’t long ago that Florida was ranked lower than than the Aggies and people were questioning whether Billy Napier knew how to recruit.

What a difference a month makes.

The Gators got Marcus Stokes, a four-star QB flipped from Penn State, as well as a total of eight verbal commitments in July, all of them rated as four-star prospects, including one top-100 pledge in Aidan Mizell, the No. 72 overall prospect and a WR from Orlando.

Florida is such a big winner because its blue-chip ratio (number of 4-star or 5-stars) is 87.5-percent and no college football fan can be upset about that.
