T2. Miami and LSU

We aren’t going to spend a crazy amount of time on LSU or Miami because we talked about both programs’ efforts in our mid-month update.

Both teams did add commitments near the end of the month and frankly, choosing between the two hauls was difficult. LSU football added 11 verbal commitments in July and that included three players ranked in the top 102 including four-star wideout Jalen Brown.

Like some of the others on the list, the fanbase was probably growing a little weary of a lack of recruiting wins until the Tigers exploded in July. Now, they are ranked 10th overall with 17 commitments (12 blue chips).

Miami picked up six pledges in the month of July headlined by five-star offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa (No. 6 overall). New head coach Mario Cristobal also landed Jaden Wayne and Malik Bryant who each ranked in the top 61 overall, plus top-100 tight end Riley Williams.

Five of Miami’s commitments in July ranked in the top 124 overall of the 247 sports composite rankings and because of that, the Hurricanes are ninth in the team rankings right now.
