1. How many games will the Army football win this fall?

Army football is a chaos team. It is a special prep for every team on its schedule because of the triple option. That does make it hard to predict games, mainly because Army has proven to be tough defensively against teams with better talent.

Game 1: @ Coastal Carolina (L): Classic versus spread option. Coastal has the better players with more of an ability to hit big plays. Chanticleers win an excellent first game.

Game 2: vs. UTSA (L): This is a coin flip game. The Roadrunners are without Sincere McCormick and offensive coordinator Barry Lunney, Jr., and this is a long trip from San Antonio to West Point. They still have Frank Harris, and he’s pretty dynamic.

Game 3: vs. Villanova (W): The Black Knights win their first against FCS Villanova.

Game 4: vs. Georgia State (W): The Knights won this game handily last season on the road. Army wins at home, but it won’t be a blowout like last season.

Game 5: @ Wake Forest (W): Who could forget the 70-56 track meet at Blaik Stadium last fall? This season’s game will not be as high scoring as last season’s affair, but Army will struggle to stop A.T. Perry and company.

Game 6: vs. Colgate (W): The Black Knights trounce another FCS opponent.

Game 7: vs. UL Monroe (W): The Warhawks are rebuilding under Terry Bowden and drop this one to Army.

Game 8: vs. Air Force *(W): Prepare for another physical game between the Falcons and Black Knights. Army wins a close one, but Air Force could also win this one.

Game 9: @ Troy (W): Army travels to Troy, Alabama, to take on the Trojans. Troy is breaking in a new coach and has turnover in critical places. Black Knights win this one.

Game 10: vs. UConn (W): Black Knights win the first two blowouts.

Game 11: @ UMass (W): Black Knights win the second of two blowouts.

Game 12: vs. Navy *(W): The Black Knights were the better team last season and were upset. They are the better team this season and get their win back.

Prediction: 10-2

This has a good chance of being 9-3 or even 8-4. This unit is one of Monken’s best teams, but some toss-up games are on the schedule.
