Clemson Football: Game-by-game predictions for 2022
By Dante Pryor
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are coming off another three-win season under Geoff Collins. Jahmyr Gibbs, the Yellow Jackets best player, transferred to Alabama; its second player, Jeff Sims, has had issues with injuries his entire career. There isn’t any reason to think ‘Tech has a shot in this one.
Clemson should be healthy for the start of this game and ready to prove that they are still part of the national conversation and College Football Playoff discussion.
Prediction: Clemson 42, Georgia Tech 10 (1-0, 1-0 ACC)
Furman is a solid FCS program but is no match for Clemson. This is a paycheck game for the Paladins, and that is okay. Furman needs the money for their athletic department. Hopefully, they can come out as healthy after the game. Tigers win going away.
Prediction: Clemson 70, Furman 7 (2-0)
Louisiana Tech is an excellent matchup for Clemson because they had the 117th passing defense in the country last season. This game is perfect for the Tigers to work through their pass game before they get into the meat and potatoes of ACC play. DJ Uiagelelei needs time to work with a relatively new crop of receivers, and the Bulldogs should pose little threat offensively or defensively.
Prediction: Clemson 56, Louisiana Tech 13 (3-0)
