Clemson Football: Game-by-game predictions for 2022
By Dante Pryor
Clemson dominated Wake Forest on both lines of scrimmage in last season’s contest. Bryan Bresee and Xavier Henry did not play on the defensive line in that game. They are playing this season. Will Shipley and Kobe Pace ran for 303 yards as the Tigers won 48-27.
The Deacons’ offense will be talented again, but the defense does have question marks. However, Clemson is far superior on both lines of scrimmage and should do the same thing to Wake Forest this season.
Prediction: Clemson 42, Wake Forest 21 (4-0, 2-0)
To say this is a revenge game is an understatement for Clemson fans. A lot of people in the college football world are buying Wolfpack stock early this summer. North Carolina State, however, has some legitimate question marks. Devin Leary is one of the best quarterbacks in college football.
However, what does the running game look like without Ricky Pearson Jr. and Zonovan Knight? Do they have enough to replace Emeka Emezie’s production at wide receiver? Also, nothing in North Carolina State’s history says they can win this game two years in a row. It does not help that the game is on the road for the ‘Pack.
Prediction: Clemson 28, NC State 14 (5-0, 3-0)
This game is interesting because of Phil Jurkovec. Boston College played them tough at Death Valley East losing 19-13. Clemson had a lot of players missing, including Will Shipley and Bryan Bresee. Baring another slew of injuries, the Tigers will be healthy again. The Eagles will need more than Jurkovec and receiver Zay Flowers if they want any chance to win this game.
The Eagles are retooling their offensive line and might play a first-year student at guard. That could be trouble against one of the best defensive lines in college football. Tigers win big in this one.
Prediction Clemson 35, Boston College 14 (6-0, 4-0)
