Heisman Trophy Candidate No. 3:  Caleb Williams

Caleb Williams wasn’t a full-time starter last season for Oklahoma, at least at the start of the year, but he stood out once he got on the field and put up incredible numbers.

Williams threw 21 touchdown passes compared to just four interceptions. He also completed 64 percent of his passes and averaged over nine yards per attempt.

Williams is no longer with the Sooners, but the former five-star quarterback transferred to USC and is reunited with former head coach Lincoln Riley. Mario Williams joined him as did former Pittsburgh superstar Jordan Addison.

Beyond that, Williams is going to be playing for USC and all eyes will be on the Trojans as they try to reclaim their spot among college football’s elite.

The Pac-12 isn’t loaded top-to-bottom and that should give USC a chance to contend for the league title if Williams is as advertised. And while it might seem like a longshot, if the Trojans have a shot to win the conference or reach the CFB playoff, Williams could swipe the Heisman too.
