If you had a nickel for every time Kansas beat Texas in the last six years, you’d have two nickels. That’s not a lot of nickels, but it’s weird that it’s happened twice, especially given how bad Kansas usually is.

Lance Leipold is an amazing coach, but winning four games is going to be considered an accomplishment with this squad. At least Jalon Daniels looks like the future in Lawrence.

Projection: Win (7-4, 5-3)

Baylor is a curious pick to win the Big XII. They only return 47 percent of their production from last year and don’t return starting quarterback Gerry Bohanon.

Yet, this is the defending Big XII champion, and there are multiple pro prospects on the team, especially on the offensive line and defense.

There’s also Blake Shapen, who looks to be a very good quarterback for the Bears. Plus, even with the losses of guys like Jalen Pitre and Terrel Bernard on defense, Dave Aranda should keep the defense solid.

Last year’s Texas-Baylor game was close, and this one will be too. Look for the Longhorns to win this one to close out the regular season.
