882. Northwestern Wildcats. Oct. 1. University Park, Penn.. 5. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

It has been five years since Penn State and Northwestern met and eight years since the Wildcats traveled to Happy Valley. The weird scheduling quirks of a 14-team conference.

Pat Fitzgerald’s team appears to be in a bit of a rebuild. However, they may put up a decent fight against the Nittany Lions. Putting up a fight and actually gaining a victory are two different things and eventually, the Wildcats fade away in this one.

Prediction: Penn State wins 34-16 (4-1, 2-0)

After a much-needed bye week, Penn State hits the road again for a date with the reigning Big Ten champions. Penn State is just 4-8 all-time in the Big House but the road team has won the last two contests. The last time the Nittany Lions won at Michigan Stadium with fans was the 2009 season.

This will be a very close contest. Ultimately though Michigan looks to be the more talented team this year and has the advantage of being at home. Penn State will take their first conference loss of the year.

Prediction: Michigan wins 23-20 (4-2, 2-1)
