Austin Peay at Western Kentucky (12 PM ET) on CBS Sports Network

Verdict: Watch the first 30 minutes

In what will be the first game to kickoff during this college football season, Western Kentucky gets FCS team Austin Peay to start out.

Western Kentucky just lost their transfer quarterback in Jarret Doege, while Austin Peay went 6-5 in the Ohio Valley Conference last year. Everything about the Hilltoppers is going to look different compared to last year’s explosion-fest of offense, and that could be compelling to some.

Still though, after the battle of the NU’s kicks off, there’s no reason to keep watching unless you’re a ‘Topper fan.

Nebraska vs. Northwestern (12:30 PM ET) on FOX

Verdict: Watch it

No, this isn’t going to be some titanic classic, as Nebraska is favored by 13 points and has an 84 percent chance to win the game. But, it’s one of only two games on the noon slate, and the only one this weekend that’s available on free-to-air television.

Texas transfer Casey Thompson will lead Nebraska out into Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland. Nebraska was the most unlucky team in football last year and will be looking to take it out on Northwestern. Meanwhile, the Wildcats do have some good players on their team, specifically Peter Skoronski at left tackle, but it’ll be hard for them to compete the whole way.

Watch it all the way through, because that’s as good as it’s gonna get.
