3 bold predictions for Vanderbilt at Hawaii
By Kathryn Rose
2. Dedrick Parson gets 75 rushing yards, as well as 75 receiving yards in this game
Dedrick Parson is not the most well-known guy nationally, especially given that he wasn’t even Hawaii’s primary back last year. However, Parson is a very good all-around back, posting 897 scrimmage yards last year on an offense that ranked 70th in the country in yards per play.
Those yards came both on the ground and through the air too; Parson ran for 618 yards, while catching for 279 yards last year. However, only once has Parson posted over 75 receiving yards in game. That came in a contest against Utah State, where he caught for 115 yards.
Yet, the 75-75 game looks doable for Parson. Vanderbilt’s defense was ranked 121st in the country in yards per play allowed last season, allowing a whopping 6.8 yards per play.
Even with the improvement that Vandy’s defense should have, it would be by margins, not by leaps-and-bounds.
