Frost won’t be back in 2022

Nebraska football fans had high hopes going into this season and why not? Kirk Herbstreit predicted that the Huskers would win the Big Ten West. Others ranked Nebraska in their top 25 after a 3-9 season.

Frost even made AD Trev Alberts a believer. He reworked his contract and agreed to re-make his coaching staff. The Huskers even attacked the transfer portal and added a clearly competent quarterback, as well as an OC that just helped win an ACC championship.

But none of it worked. At least not for an entire game and that’s been the problem of the Frost era. The Huskers may look great for a half or a quarter, but they can’t sustain it for 60 minutes.

Frost has gotten the benefit of the doubt and if he wins seven games, he’ll continue to. But that seems almost impossible. There’s no evidence anything will change and the reality is that Alberts needs to see that soon, if he doesn’t already.
