2. Scott Frost won’t survive

This is a prediction but I think we learned on Saturday that Scott Frost isn’t going to survive this season after the terrible loss suffered by the Huskers in College Football Week 0.

For the second year in a row, the Huskers have played a Big Ten team on the opening weekend of college football season and lost.

This performance was better but blowing an 11-point lead doesn’t make it any better. What’s even worse is onside kick attempted by the Huskers is what did them in.

Here’s a look at some potential replacements.

Northwestern and Illinois could be teams to watch

Prior to Week 0, neither team was getting much buzz and now both programs feel like they should at least have some postseason aspirations.

For Illinois, it would be a game-changer if Bret Bielema could get this program back to a bowl game and the Fighting Illini dominated Wyoming when many people thought that game could be a struggle.

Ryan Hilinski (314 yards, 2 TDs) and Tommy Devito (194 yards, 2TDs) also played better than expected and the Big Ten West could also be (a little) better than expected, minus Nebraska.
