Florida football beats Utah and other SEC dominance

The SEC conference is going to have a big first week. The biggest game outside of Notre Dame and Ohio State is Georgia and Oregon.

The Dawgs are the defending national champs and will face their former DC as the Oregon head coach in Dan Lanning. Lanning brought Bo Nix with him from Auburn to likely be the starting quarterback and while that should help win games in the Pac-12, I don’t see it being good enough to beat Georgia.

The Bulldog defense lost a bunch of stars, but it’s not void of talent. Kirby Smart is as good as it gets and he’ll prove it. Plus, Stetson Bennett will do his thing and the Dawgs will win by at least two touchdowns.

In terms of a bold prediciton, one of mine is that Florida football is going to pull an upset over No. 7 Utah. Anthony Richardson could be poised for a big year and this Florida team is still loaded with tons of elite recruits.

Billy Napier is a proven winner and while Utah is going to be really good, heading into the Swamp Week 1 won’t be easy and I think the Napier era gets off to a dream start.

The SEC difference is real and the heat could impact the Utes too. By the way, Arkansas will end any thoughts of Cincinnati being back in the playoff on Saturday night as KJ Jefferson announces (with a stellar game) his own bid for the Heisman.
