Flip back and forth between these games
Central Michigan vs. Oklahoma State (7 p.m. ET) on FS1
Central Michigan has the nation’s best rusher from last season back in Lew Nichols. In addition, per-play metrics show them as one of the two best teams in the MAC from last season. Meanwhile, Oklahoma State has the very talented Spencer Sanders at quarterback but needs to replace key pieces on both sides of the ball.
West Virginia vs. Pittsburgh (7 p.m. ET) on ESPN
This edition of the Backyard Brawl could be entertaining if JT Daniels is anything like the quarterback we’ve grown accustomed to hearing about. West Virginia has a bunch of new transfers, especially on the defensive side of the ball too. Meanwhile, Pitt is hoping Kedon Slovis can do a fraction of what Kenny Pickett did last season for the Panthers.
Penn State vs. Purdue (8 p.m. ET) on FOX
In what should be a relatively even matchup, Penn State will travel to Purdue to take on the Boilermakers. Purdue’s offense, which is led by quarterback Aidan O’Connell, goes against a unit that ranked 10th in the Big Ten in yards per game allowed. Meanwhile, Penn State had an average offense in the Big Ten, though Sean Clifford did throw for over 3,000 yards last year.
