App State will host Power Five North Carolina from the ACC in one of the most exciting Group of Five vs Power Five matchups of Week 1.

Fortunately for the Mountaineers, the Tar Heels already have a little wear and tear on their bodies, having played in Week 0 vs Florida A&M — a game they won handily 56-24.

App State is going to be extremely hungry heading into this game and should have a decent shot at pulling off the upset at home against Mack Brown and UNC.

App State hosts UNC at 12 p.m. ET on ESPNU.

Fresno State enters Week 1 as the Mountain West’s best team, in my opinion. They have a ton of returning talent on both sides of the ball, led by quarterback Jake Haener.

The senior quarterback threw for more than 4,000 yards last season and recorded 33 touchdowns. He’ll have a chance to keep that momentum going when they face an FCS opponent in Week 1 before playing two Pac-12 teams in Weeks 2 and 3.

Fresno State hosts Cal Poly in Week 1 on Sept. 1 at 10:30 p.m. ET on FS1.

0-0. UTSA Roadrunners. player. 2408. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. C-USA. 4

UTSA has an incredibly difficult first game to kick off their 2022 college football season, facing No. 24 Houston. While the game will be played at home in the Alamodome, it’s going to be incredibly difficult to fend off a team that’s extremely well coached and stocked with talent on both sides of the ball.

Frank Harris enters his fourth season with the Roadrunners having amassed more than 5,200 passing yards, 1,200 rushing yards and 60 total touchdowns. He’ll face one of his toughest tests against a stringent Houston defense. If they can pull off the upset, they may be on their way to another magical season.

The Roadrunners host No. 24 Houston at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBSSN.
